How do you feel about yourself? Do you have self-worth issues?
The scriptures say we are his workmanship. Think about that for a minute no really THINK about that.
God is a master craftsman and his work is second to none. He created YOU and breathed his life into YOU.
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
I believe that loving ourselves is under attack by the enemy like no other time. If he can get us to skew our view of ourselves and who we really are in Christ that he has a foothold in our self-worth.
Being a survivor of sexual abuse as a little girl he started with that foothold early in my life. He attacked my self-worth from a young age. I grew up in my head thinking I was never good enough, pretty enough, or even smart enough.
I became very guarded and had learned to have a hard heart to protect myself from being hurt. I had a persona of being tough when really I was just a scared little girl hiding from everyone.
It had years of self-destructive behavior getting close to people only to sabotage those relationships. Keeping God in a nice little box on the self. Knowing who he was just not having a personal relationship with him.
That all changed when at my rawest right after my mom passed away when I cried out to him that he sent me a good man, a man of God to guide me back into a relationship with him.
He blessed me with a man who recognized that behavior and no matter how hard I tried to destroy what God brought together he stood strong.
In the same passage, the Bible goes on to say “But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.”
I was blessed with a man that had within him enough grace to extend to me in my failures as a wife and that wouldn’t allow me to throw away what God had given us.
He understood that I had issues I was still working through with God on learning how to truly love myself to be able to love him and our children.
I am so thankful for the man I have been given, for the relationship we have TODAY despite all my past issues. God works all things together for good.
The enemy no longer has that foothold on my self-worth, I evicted him just like God did from heaven. He no longer gets to whisper his lies to me.
I am created by a master craftsman who created me in his image. Who breathed His life in me and prepared good works for me beforehand.
Works to help people and be a blessing, to talk with others on how I overcame my early childhood. How to be successful in God’s eyes and man’s. To take away all the power the devil thought he had over me and my life.
The bible says God is love and that we were made in his image. That means we are also made to love.
We are supposed to love God with all our hearts. We are supposed to love our neighbor like ourselves.
I encourage you today if you have self-worth issues to evict the enemy from your thoughts. To get your thoughts into subjection and lined up with what God says about you.
To learn the power and authority that we REALLY have in Christ Jesus.
Get into God’s word on who you are in him and then walk it out in your life.
