Sitting here this morning talking with my husband about the things of the Lord, and the word obedience pops in my head. Now if we look to the word we see a common thread all throughout it and that is when the person in the story is being disobedient that there are storms or hardships in their life or nation. I can look back on my life and see a direct correlation to the seasons in my life on rather I was being obedient or pleasing to the Lord. We teach our kids to listen to us or there will be consequences they have to suffer, the same thing holds true for us and our walk with God. Obedience is a form of love, being submissive to another's will is one definition of the word. I know as a wife that when I submit to my husband that pleases him and he shows me, LOVE. Isn’t our walk with God the same way? When we do something he asks of us we are rewarded for doing his will, not ours. As people we have a REALLY hard time being obedient, trust me I have been an unruly child most of my adult life! Thinking I knew better or unwilling to listen to anyone EVEN to my own harm. I finally got tired of the roller coaster ride I was on with my creator, my husband, my relationships, and my business. I fell on my knees and cried out with a true heart to my God and you know what? He heard my cries and picked me up and put me in a spot that I could choose to press into him. I made intentional changes in my life, changed the music, the people, and what I watched and read to be only God-focused and it shocked me to see what a CHANGE it made. I made it a point get up and pray and read my bible 1ST thing every morning FAITHFULLY, to start to talk to him like a friend getting his input into everything. I watched the relationships around me be restored and start to grow. Watched my marriage get stronger than ever before, watched a small seed in my business grow into a HUGE tree that my children’s children will see the fruit of. Seen my heart grow softer and softer for the people who are in need of God and find myself daily asking God who where how can I help and make a difference in. God’s LOVE changes everything, WHY because God is love. He created us to be his best friend to walk with him and fellowship with him. Not for our dog to be our best friend (I love my fur baby) but Leo is not a replacement for God. My husband isn’t a replacement for God or my children. We have to be diligent in making God 1st in our life, knowing who he is and what he wants from us. By doing so everything else gets good, your marriage, your relationships, your business, or your job, you find that if you make time for him you have time for EVERYTHING your day demands of you and you can do it with a smile with peace, and with LOVE. I really want to encourage you to replace your morning routine with giving God your first and I guarantee GOD will blow your world wide open with what he has planned for you, plans to prosper you not to harm you. He has prepared something for you you can’t even imagine all you have to do is pursue him and when he tells you something to be obedient to what he said! God loves you more than anyone has or can or will. God is love and he made you for him, you were chosen to be his walk in that knowledge today.
