Obedience is first mentioned in Genesis and continues to be mentioned all the way thru Revelations over 108 scriptures have the word obedience in it why? Because it is an integral part of our walk with God. Faith is mentioned over 81 times and the definition of it is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. The definition of obedience is compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority. Now what I have learned as of late that the key to me being successful as a believer, wife, mother, friend, a business owner is the combo of the two. Having faith in God is only half of it, If I want all the blessings that go with God I have to be obedient to what he is asking of me. If I truly believe in him and what the scriptures say why wouldn’t I do what he asks of me? When you read in Deuteronomy 30 he lays out to his children all the blessing that comes along with being obedient. Let me tell you there is a lot in there that I see people chase every day and never attain why? Because they have no faith or belief in God and what he promises. See I have done it both ways in my 45 years, with God and without. When I did it my way holy moly was it ever a DISASTER of major proportions. I was showing symptoms outwardly of a person who was broken inside and without her God who loves unconditionally. You could see me lashing out to anyone and everyone, I was chasing a lifestyle I was never going to attain because I forgot God, just like all throughout the bible we see story after story of God’s people turning there back on him and doing their own thing. My question for you to think about is this, do you really have faith in God, and if yes are you obedient to what he is asking of you today? I encourage you today to really press into God and what he wants of you and I guarantee you this will exceed anything you can even imagine in a million years. You may be asking yourself how do you press into him? How I pressed into him was to make him my first thought every morning, giving him my first hour every morning. Praying, reading his word, and singing praise and worship. I find that when I start my morning this way my day is like a cool breeze full of love, joy, peace, and the other fruits of the spirit instead of showing symptoms of a broken spirit. I know that we heard this a million times, but time really is running out for this earthly world and we need to get as many people saved as possible. How do we get people to say yes to God is by showing them, love. Love covers a multitude of sins and that is what we HAVE TO DO is show the hurting and dying people God’s LOVE because he is LOVE. He loved you and me so much he sent his son to die for us in order for us to be reconciled back to him. As a parent, I couldn’t even fathom the idea of letting my child die for another child’s punishment. That is exactly what God did for you and me, sent his son to die for me that I could live. Live life more abundantly than I did before I was living with God. The definition of abundantly is in large quantities; plentifully, so the question I ask, are you living abundantly? I can with an earnest and honest heart say YES! My life now is more abundant than before and it is so I can give to very good work out of my abundance and show people GOD’S LOVE without prejudice or malice. If you really want to MAKE IT in life you have to make him FIRST in all that you do and the heavens will open up for you and God will bless everything you touch!
